Strandfield started off in a shed with a bucket of David Austin roses. A simple concept of local produce. It has everything I love, good food + landscape. It grew organically, they bought small and took ever day as it came and decided not to brand the shit out of every piece of cutlery.

I was very pleased to work on the photography for their website which will be released very soon.

On a 4 day journey from Moscow to Irkutst, I missed out. I thought I had pretty much everything you could need, Crayolas, my trusty lunch box/saucepan and an impeccable selection of cereal bars. When nearing to a stop, as I was fumbling with my laces - I began to envy the deeply worn in Velcro open toe slippers from these well traveled ladies.

I thought I was getting better at packing - clearly I have a lot to learn.

When you finally stumble upon the area Red Hook after a very long walk or an awkward bus journey, you begin to wonder, is this the place? What looked like a deserted town, was actually far from it. Walking a few blocks further down you can begin to see a few bagel shops and small delis, always a good sign when in a new area. Finally after what seemed like a very long time I came upon Van Dyke street, and a store I have been wanted to see for a very long time, Saipua.
