Lichen +

Lichens occur in the most extreme conditions on earth - This is the lichen from a tree our ours at home in Ireland, turns out it only grows in areas with pure air. This particular lichen is growing on the remains of a crab apple branch.

 

 

My sisters shop in Ireland has the best cakes, an amazing carrot cake and a plum up-side down pie - well the last of it anyway...
